General
Beliefs
- Limited & Constitutional Government - We believe that a government that governs least, governs best. However, we also believe that government needs to
adhere to the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of Minnesota.
- Fiscal
Responsibility - We believe that our government must act like our citizenry, when there is no money we cannot spend anymore. The government should always be good stewards of
taxpayer money and resist urges to spend wildly on projects that the government does not have the authority by the voter to engage in. We believe that taxes should be as low as possible and that the
individual is the most equipped to know how to spend the money they have earned. It is our opponents who believe that the government knows better how to spend what an individual earns.
- Personal Responsibility - We believe that no society can last unless we, as individuals enact responsibility for our actions. We must look within ourselves to correct our inefficiencies. We must also be the first line of defense as individuals in protecting our families and community. It is our opponents who wish for the first and only line of defense to be the government.
- Protection of Capitalism and an "Unequal Distribution of Wealth" - Capitalism has already proven to be the best way for a society to create wealth. When an economy is healthy all of
its members do well. Realizing that there is no such thing as an equal distribution of wealth we prefer an unequal distribution of something over an equal distribution of nothing. Our opponents
believe in economic equality, which can only be created by a system that has an equal distribution of poverty.
- Religious
Freedom - We believe that the Republican Party is the party of religious freedom. We understand that the protection of the individuals right
to worship as they please is a fundamental freedom that must be protected at all costs. It is our opponents who fight for a secular state
- Protection of the Right to Bear
Arms - We believe that the second amendment allows the right of the individual to
possess firearms to protect themselves. All totalitarian regimes disarms their populace in order to enact the will of the government over the people. We believe that the government should fear it's
people. Our opponents believe that the people should fear their government and the best way to do that is only allow government officials to possess firearms.
- Protection of Life - We believe the protection of life is an inalienable (natural) right for all humans
even those that are unborn. While the argument of when life start rages on we believe that in order to protect life we must start protecting it at conception. Our opponents believe in abortion as a
lifestyle choice.
- Protection of Personal
Liberty - We believe the
protection of personal liberty is also an inalienable right. We reject that the state has the authority to enact legislation that oppresses our personal liberty. We fight this oppression in all of
its forms; local ordinances, state legislation and taxation. Our opponents believe that they know what is best for everyone and prefer to create laws to enforce their beliefs.
- Protection of Personal Property
Rights - We believe that the protection of an
individuals pursuit and acquisition of happiness must be protected as the third inalienable right. We do not believe everyone has the right to have what they want but they should be able to pursue
what they want freely without interference from the government. Our opponents believe that they should be the arbiter of who "deserves" happiness and how much they are allowed to have. They wish to
use government control to enforce this.
